"The title of the exhibition 'Lunário' evokes not only lunar calendars, that is, the record of the time of each quarter moon of the year, the moons of a lunar cycle, the cyclical movements of the satellite planet on itself and what they exert around the Earth, or even the meanings associated with these phenomena, such as the cycle of life. As Valter explains, 'Lunário' also alludes to other natural cycles, such as sunrise and sunset and the growth of the plants in his garden, which have become objects of his most attentive observation, as well as the small cyclical rituals of daily life, from waking up to falling asleep.
It is, therefore, precisely through a process of reproduction that Valter conceived four pieces: New Moon, Crescent Moon, Full Moon, and Waning Moon. In a meticulous exercise, the titles were repeatedly printed on paper by the typewriter, in order for each one to compose its corresponding lunar phase. The words are thus transfigured into images and acquire new meanings." Objectivity, physicality, and visual expression. It is noted that the instrument chosen by the artist redefines the materiality of writing and reduces the characters to abstract signs."
